The MD of Bonnyville has Committed $5000 to CLS

The Chronic Labour Shortages Committee (CLS) has received funding from the MD of Bonnyville. The committee which is looking to resolve labour issues in the Lakeland is planning a research study on the area that’ll help back the region’s labour problems with facts and figures. The study will help solidify the committee’s stance that Northern Alberta should be exempt from or should have its own version of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program that better aids the area. The MD has agreed to help with the funding by matching The Town of Bonnyville contribution of five thousand dollars. The committee has also asked the City of Cold Lake for the same monetary amount, which will go towards paying for the 40 thousand dollar survey. The City has not made a decision on the funding as of yet, stating they need more information before they can commit to the funding.
