Lazer Tag Facility Has to Overcome Parking Hurdles.

It seems as though Bonnyville’s downtown parking issues are coming to a head as a proposed lazer tag arena’s plans to open up are hitting a roadblock.

At the last town council meeting, Bev Towes was present to explain her situation. She wants to open the facility in a building on 51st Avenue, diagonal from Bonnyville Centralized High School. However, according to a Municipal bylaw, the facility’s maximum capacity of 92 people would require it to have 40 parking stalls. the Site can only accommodate 5. Towes would have to pay nearly Seventy Thousand dollars in overflow parking fees, which would make opening the business impossible.

Council is excited by the proposal though, and is looking for a solution. They plan to discuss it further at the next meeting on November 8th, with staff hopefully having some awnsers and perhaps even some more long term solutions for the parking situation in general.
