Lakeland Students Learn About Health at Healthy Active Schools Symposium

Canadian Cruiserweight Champion and BCHS grad, Rob Nichols was the keynote speaker for the Healthy Active Schools Symposium on October 25th.

The Symposium featured students from multiple school districts, who learned about living healthier lifestyles in a variety of areas including mental health, fitness and mindfulness. The students will then share what they learned with their fellow students and be involved in developing health and wellness initiatives in their schools.

During his speech, Nichols shared the story of how he learned to live a healthy lifestyle through discovering boxing. He also spoke to students about nutrition, exercise and the benefits of making healthy lifestyle choices.

The Healthy Active Schools Symposium was presented by Ever Active Schools in co-operation with Alberta Health Services, Be Fit for Life and the Alberta Healthy School Community Wellness Fund.
