Ticket Donation Program Announced For World Junior A Challenge

The host organizing committee for the 2016 World Junior A Challenge has announced a ticket donation program for the tournament, which faces off at R.J. Lalonde Arena from Dec. 11-17.

Fans who cannot use tickets included in their full-tournament package can drop tickets off at the Bonnyville Centennial Centre; drop boxes will be located in the Hub for use in the donation program.

Donated tickets will be given to the Bonnyville Food Bank, Bonnylodge and Extendicare Bonnyville to allow as many residents as possible to experience international hockey in northeastern Alberta.

“This is a fantastic program to get people in and around Bonnyville involved in what should be a terrific event,” said Robb Hunter, chair of the 2016 World Junior A Challenge host organizing committee. “We’re thrilled to partner with these three organizations to ensure as many tickets as possible are used, and we’re hoping for great crowds at R.J. Lalonde Arena when the puck drops Dec. 11.”

“We certainly have residents who enjoy the game, and any donated tickets will find a good home,” said Kim Mercier, administrator for Extendicare Bonnyville. “We’re excited to have the World Junior A Challenge come to our community, and excited to be a part of it.”
