Cold Lake Elementary Holds Grand Opening

Education Minister David Eggen was present to cut the ribbon and give a speech for Cold Lake Elementary’s Grand Opening Ceremony today.

“Today we are not only celebrating a new school for our students, we are celebrating a wonderful new facility for our whole community,” said Board Chair Mandi Skogen. “The community involvement at Cold Lake Elementary has always been amazing and the new school will just further enhance opportunities for the school and community to work together.”

The school has been in operation since September but today was put aside to recognize all the effort that went into getting it going.

“We often don’t realize the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to prepare a new school for students,” said Skogen. “Our staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was in place for staff and students when they returned to school and they deserve huge accolades for what they have accomplished.”

The new school is located at 803 – 16 Avenue in Cold Lake North and serves 480 students between Kindergarten and Grade 4.
