Six Transit Buses have been purchased from Calgary by the City of Cold Lake. After inspecting several 40-passenger buses were by City staff with the help of mechanics from Calgary Transit. Six fully equipped buses in frontline condition were selected to consider for Cold Lake’s fleet. The plan is to have the transit system running by June says Mayor of Cold Lake Craig Copeland, who notes there will be two buses running at a time.
Mayor Copeland says by purchasing the buses through the city of Calgary, Cold Lake was able to save a lot of money for its tax payers. Â The purchase of the six buses is expected to come in at a fraction of the $200,000 capital budget allowance made to purchase two new vehicles to start the transit service.
