Cold Lake Food Bank Supplies Dwindling

While Bonnyville’s food bank is in relatively healthy shape after a rush of donations, Cold Lake’s is now running extremely low.

“Cold Lake friends, this is the Food Bank after serving 80 families on Wednesday and 37 families last night!” Ali McCullough said in a Facebook post, sharing several pictures showing nearly bare shelves, “Please consider if you are able to make a donation to the Food Bank as we are serving twice as many families as last year!”

The food bank is located at the Community Baptist Church and is open Wednesdays 10 am to 2:30 pm and Fridays 6:00 – 8:00 pm.  Donations can be made at the church.

The food bank will also be having a major fundraising effort in a few weeks. The first “Ride for Refuge” cycling event will be held at the church on October 1st with Registration at 8 and the ride starting at 9. More information on that is available at https://canada.rideforrefuge.org/charity/coldlakefoodbank.
