The County of Lac La Biche is holding the first of two consultation meetings with the public this evening regarding its application for Specialized Municipality status.
The meeting will be at the Festival Centre in Plamondon at 7. The County is applying for the status to preserve their split mill rate for taxes when they achieve municipality status and to expand their Urban Service Areas, which offer a special lower tax rate to businesses.
