Man Shot on Frog Lake First Nations Defending His Dog with Sword

A few dogs getting into a fight on the Frog Lake First Nations led to a man getting shot in the leg with a shotgun.

The man was driving an ATV through the area when his dog got into a scrap with the dogs on a property. The man pulled out a sword from the ATV to defend his dog when a 17-year-old boy came out of the house and shot him,  The victim was treated by EMS and then air lifted to The University of Alberta Hospital in stable condition. The injures sustained were severe but non-life threatening.

The youth, who can’t be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested and will be answering to charges in St Paul Provincial Court on September 1, 2016.
