Severe Thunderstorm Alert Issued For Lakeland

Although the wather is bright and sunny at the time of this posting in Bonnyville, a severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for the Lakeland area.

Environment Canada says storms today are likely to be slow-moving with heavy rainfall being the main threat. However, gusts and hail are possible as well. Storms are expected later in the afternoon

Conditions are also ripe for funnel clouds to form. Funnel clouds usually aren’t much of an issue, but they have the potential to form into weak tornadoes on rare occasions. If you see one prepare yourself.
