A Man Caught Driving Under the Influence Twice in 24 hours.

On November 26th a call came into the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment that there was a possible impaired driver on highway 41 near Fort Kent. Police quickly caught up with the suspect vehicle and arrested the man driving. It was discovered that the vehicle was stolen and the man blew over two times the legal limit when providing a breath sample. Upon investigation it was discovered the same man, a 39 year old from Leduc, had been arrested the day prior in Vermilion on DUI charges and had his vehicle impounded. The man was released from police custody in Vermilion and the vehicle was stolen from the impound lot shortly after. Bonnyville RCMP has charged him with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property, Driving while Disqualified, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and several provincial offences.   He was then transported to Vermillion where RCMP dealt with their outstanding charges.
