Bonnyville RCMP Attend Home Invasion

Bonnyville RCMP spent the early hours of Canada Day at a home invasion in progress, where they arrested a 36 year old man.

The man broke into the MD residence with two knives in his hands, but the victims were able to get rid of them, possibly aided by the suspect’s severe intoxication. The man stated he was there to hurt the family and had already hurt his brother. Police later found he had in fact hit his brother in the leg with a baseball bat earlier.

He remains in police custody after being brought before a Justice of the Peace facing charges of Aggravated Assault, Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Uttering threats, Resist Arrest and Failing to Comply with Conditions.
