16 Year Old Points Gun at Police

Bonnyville RCMP responded to a call of shots being fired in Kehewin on the 19th and were greeted by a 16-year-old pointing a rifle  at them.

the 16-year-old fled and a 21 and 22-year-old were arrested at the scene. Several bags of meth were recovered at thee scene. the 16-year-old was found two days later and taken into custody

On June 19th, 2016 at 1:30 AM, the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment was dispatched to a residence in Kehewin, AB for a 911 complaint of shorts fired. Upon arrival at the residence, officers observed a male standing in the driveway holding an SKS rifle. When the male, later identified as a 16 year old youth, saw the police vehicles he pointed his firearm at the first approaching police car. RCMP Constables were able to re-position and get out of the line of fire and back up resources arrived from Cold Lake RCMP and Police Dog Services from St. Paul. The male youth fled the scene. A 21 year old female, later identified as Janayha NIGHT, was arrested without incident when she came out of the home with her hands up. A 21 year old male, later identified as Nike STONE, was found hiding in the bushes surrounding the residence and he was subsequently arrested. Police also located several baggies of methamphetamine in the area STONE was located that appeared to be packaged for sale. Both apprehended individuals were transported to Bonnyville RCMP Detachment where they were booked into cells. Through investigation it was learned that there were several people in the residence and witnesses reported that two males, determined to be STONE and the 16 year old youth, had been shooting firearms outside from inside the residence.

Janayha NIGHT has been remanded into custody facing 2 charges of utter threats to two Bonnyville RCMP Members while in custody.

Nike STONE has been remanded into custody facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, unauthorized use of a firearm, careless use of a firearm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. STONE was also held in custody for outstanding charges from Edmonton Police Service.

On June 21st, 2016 St. Paul RCMP Detachment located the 16 year old male at a residence in Saddle Lake, Alberta. The male attempted to run away and hide from police but was apprehended without injury to himself or the RCMP Officers. He has been remanded into custody on charges of pointing a firearm, unauthorized use of a firearm, careless use of a firearm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
