St. Paul Animal Shelter to Hold AGM Tonight

St. Paul’s Animal Shelter will be holding its annual general meeting at the FCSS at 7:30 tonight.

The meeting is open to the public and a wide variety of topics will be included. Manager Charlene Whiskeyjack says the shelter’s board will explain  in greater detail what services they plan to offer at their new facility once it’s built. She adds that cats are a huge problem for the shelter lately and they have more cats right now then they have capacity for. The shelter has lowered their adoption rates to 75 dollars for ten days to see if that might help the situation.

Whiskeyjack says it’s been an up and down year for the shelter. There were some severe staffing issues for a few months where she was the only staff member. Fortunately, that has been resolved since and the shelter now has two additional full-time staff. This raises the possibility of the shelter being open on weekends again.
