With the donation Centre for Fort McMurray evacuees closing in less than 2 weeks at the Bonnyville Baptist Church, they’ve run into the problem of what to do with all the items left over once the shop closes up.
To solve this, they’ve decided to hold a garage sale next Wednesday and Thursday inside the church to clear out their remaining inventory.
Pastor Ben Smith says the provincial operations centre specifically requested them not to sell any food. Instead the church will send it over to the centre, who will send it up to Fort Mac.
The proceeds will be donated to the Samaritans Purse Fort McMurray Fire Relief effort.
Even with the centre closing, volunteers are still needed. Any and all remaining donations will have to be packed up.
