A Bonnyville man’s attempt to flee police by bicycle after punching a woman in the face was ultimately in vain.
Police received a call from a concerned citizen on the 29th  who saw the assault take place in a local Bonnyville park. Bonnyville RCMP arrived and saw the man try to flee by bike. The man was known to police and continued to try to escape despite being told he was under arrest several times. After a few blocks he gave up and was arrested without much trouble.
The 29-year-old was transported to the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment where he was remanded into custody by a Justice of the Peace to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on June 7th.
