SPCA Housing Pets of Fort Mac Evacuees

Fort McMurray evacuees in Bonnyville are getting some help from the local SPCA, who’s holding displaced pets free of charge.

Heather Mutch says about 15 dogs and 5 cats have come through this way. Some of the dogs just stay for the day to play and head back with their owners later in the evening. The shelter has enough space to house them.

Due to the added expense of looking after these animals, the SPCA is in need of a few things – non-clumping kitty litter as well as dog and cat food. They will also accept cash donations.

Donations can be dropped off at 5601-54 th Ave. You can also contact the shelter at 780-826-3230.
