Province Lifts Fire and Off Road Vehicle Ban, Except for Lac La Biche and Fort Mac

Thanks to wet and cool weather across much of Alberta, the government has lifted both the fire and OHV bans for most of the province.

The only forest protection areas that are still under bans are Lac La Biche and Fort McMurray.

The MD and town of Bonnyville still have municipal fire bans in place, although it’s possible they could be lifted as well with several days of rain forecasted.

Although conditions have improved, it’s still important for residents to do their part to prevent wildfires. That includes full extinguishing campfires and stopping frequently to check for debris in off-highway-vehicles hotspots like the exhaust and under the seat.
