Group Wants Money Loaned to St. Paul Golf Course From Council

The St. Paul golf course continues to be a source of headaches for the town.

A group of members who lended the old board a total of $55,000 attended the last council meeting demanding to be compensated. The town took over the course last year when it was discovered the board running it was deeply in debt. The original board was able to pay some of the money back but not all.

Mayor Glenn Anderson said that council had not been informed of the money owed. The lenders were willing to give council time to figure out a plan of action. The contract the lenders signed with the previous board stated that any owed funds would be transferred over in the case of a new group taking over operations.

Council will review the request once it has  more information, and will make an official statement at a later date.
