Bold Center to Reopen Soon as Evacuee Situation Settles Down

Nobody is sleeping in a cot at the Bold Center anymore and Lac La Biche County is looking into re-opening it to the public soon.

The center has transferred more into a service provider for evacuees, handing out debit cards with emergency payments, serving food, housing donated items and the like.

The county isn’t sure when the center will open exactly, but there are plans to compensate residents with memberships who found themselves barred from entering the building. The county will extend every active membership by however many days the center winds up being closed for plus an extra month on top of that.
