Kelvin Plain Resigns as Councillor for Cold Lake

Kelvin Plain is resigning from Cold Lake city council.

Plain had served on council since 2004 until he handed in his resignation prior to yesterday’s meeting. Plain is planning to move out-of-town, making him ineligible to serve.

Plain’s four terms of service include stints on the Library Board, Cold Lake and District FCSS Board, Affordable Housing Society, Regional Utilities Commission, Assessment Review Board and the Lakeland Lodge and Housing Society, in addition to representing the community in numerous other capacities.

A by-election to replace Plain will not be held as a municipal election is fewer than 18 months away.
