Update on Cold Lake Evacuee Situation

With the number of evacuees coming in starting to taper off, the Cold Lake and District FCSS will be open from Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

As of Sunday there were 395 evacuees had registered in the area. The Check-in Centre will remain open during regular operating hours.

The two five-member Cold Lake Fire-Rescue Crews have been rotated out by a third, leaving the services’ contribution at one five-member crew.

The Cold Lake Energy Centre has also opened its doors to wildfire evacuees, with showers available for those in need.

The City of Cold Lake has not been asked to establish a formal registration centre or evacuation centre but remains ready to do so. The Check-in Centre will maintain operations as long as there is demand.

People who would like to make local donations are asked to donate to the Cold Lake Food Bank. Donations of cash, non-perishable food and other basic necessities that are new can be arranged by calling 780-201-6589.
