An independent seven-year evaluation Alberta’s strategic plan on FASD shows that programs and services funded by the government in the Lakeland are working. The Lakeland Centre for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder or LCFASD provides in FASD diagnosis/assessment, support services, prevention, and awareness. The Lakeland chapter, along with each FASD network area, was evaluated as part of this provincial review. Surveys and interviews were conducted with individuals, families, stakeholders and partners to determine the centres validity. Results of the provincial evaluation will be released soon, though a preview shows The Lakeland’s centre is working and achieving positive results.
