More Evacuees Coming to Lac La Biche, but Situation Still Good

More and more evacuees are making their way to Lac La Biche, but the county still has plenty of space for them.

Communications Coordinator Jihad Moghrabi says more than 2,900 evacuees have registered at the Bold Centre and 700 have been placed in homes in the community. The county has 450 cots available at the centre, but only 200 of them were used last night. Another 300 are expected to arrive soon. Most people coming into the county rest there for a little while then head down further south.

A steady stream of evacuees have still been coming in all day long, but the county still has things under control. Everybody is still getting three meals a day and having their needs met. AHS has set up a clinic at the Bold Centre and mental health professionals are on site.
