Cold Lake Establishes Check-in Centre for Evacuees

The City of Cold Lake has established a Check-in Centre for evacuees at the Cold Lake and District FCSS.

The Check-in Centre will register evacuees with the Canadian Red Cross, answer questions that they may have, and help find out what the City and the community can do to help.

Cold Lake and District FCSS is located at 5220 – 54 Street and can be contacted at 780-594-4495 or via email at [email protected]. The Check-in Centre is effective immediately and will be open Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 8:00 pm. Any change in hours will be posted on the City’s website and social media accounts.

Anyone displaced by the wildfires is asked to check in so they can be registered. Residents who know someone who is in the community are asked to make them aware of the Check-in Centre.

To date, the City of Cold Lake has not been asked by Alberta Emergency Management Agency to create a reception centre, but the City stands ready to do so if called upon.
