Bonnyville Man Forced to Jump From Second Story to Escape Abusive Girlfriend

A Bonnyville man had to jump from his second story patio to escape his girlfriend who tried to stab him multiple times.

The man showed up at the detachment on the 21st around 5 with injuries to his face and hands and not wearing any shoes. He said an argument between him and his girlfriend got violent and she started throwing kitchen items, including a frying pan at him. Things escalated further when she grabbed a knife and tried to attack him. The man ran across the house and had to use objects as a shield to prevent any further harm to himself. He was able to get away and jump from the balcony to his car. The woman hit his car with her purse several times as he drove off.

Police showed up to the house shortly after and arrested the woman, who they found out was wanted out of Ontario for violent offences and has a criminal record. She remains in custody and is appearing in court today.
