Play 2 Learn Daycare Trying to Solve the Case of the Stolen Blue Piggy Planter

No person or business is immune to petty theft, not even an innocuous children’s daycare in a small northern Albertan town.

Such is the lesson Play 2 Learn Daycare in Elk Point is learning today. The daycare had two pigs planters at the front of their building, one pink and one blue. However, the blue one has disappeared overnight, leaving the pink one on its own.

Owner Melanie Poulin bought the planters about two years ago from a man in town who makes them as a hobby. She says the kids took a liking to them, saying hello and chatting with the pigs every day. The blue pig was last seen around 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon and was discovered to be missing around 7 this morning. The daycare is hoping whoever took the planter brings it back soon.

The pink piggy is reportedly distressed with the incident, but is keeping high spirits otherwise.
