One Arrested, One at Large After Groceries Shoplifted in Cold Lake

One man is serving two months behind bars and another remains on the loose after stealing groceries and assaulting a staff member from the Cold lake No Frills.

Cold Lake RCMP responded to the incident just before 10 in the morning on the 10th. The pair ran off fleeing south, but staff were able to subdue one of them. 37-year-old Leroy Steinhauer of Calas, Alberta was charged  with theft under $5,000 and assault against one of the employees who tried to stop him. He pled guilty on all counts on the 13th, receiving a 60 day sentence as well as 200 dollars in fines.

Cold Lake RCMP are still looking for the second man. Anyone with a lead is encouraged to call  the Cold Lake Detachment at 780-594-3302.
