Portage College Sees 2% Funding Increase in Budget.

It’s impossible to please everybody when coming up with a provincial budget, but the NDP has managed to at least satisfy Portage College with their announcement today.

In a press release, the college says the 2% increase in grant money they received in the budget will translate into about 436,000 dollars. That will help somewhat offset the 1.95 million dollars in cuts the college made in their own budget this year.  The college says their budget “strategically positions it to respond to the changing needs of industry, communities, student learners and ensures ongoing sustainability into future years.”
