Cold Lake Man Threatens Suicide Over WCB Claim

A 47 year old Cold Lake man was taken to the hospital for a psychiatric assessment after threatening to take his own life over a WCB claim.

Local RCMP received multiple calls from Alberta Works, WCB and the Premier’s office all notifying them of the man’s condition. Police say the man threatened to kill himself in front of the Legislative Building if his claim wasn’t enough.

Police detained the man under the Mental Health Act and transported him to the hospital for an evaluation.
