Cold Lake’s Curtis Hargrove Nominated for National Award

The 2012 Winner of the Lakeland’s Most Amazing Person Curtis Hargrove is getting national recognition. Hargrove, who has become a household name after running across Canada to raise funds for the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton, has been nominated for the National Philanthropist Award, presented by the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Hargrove is no stranger to giving back, along with running across Canada he also participated in “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” an initiative to raise awareness of family violence. Though a mile wasn’t long enough for him, Hargrove walked from Cold Lake to Edmonton in heels. He’s also participated in Lakeland Survivor this past summer among other fundraising efforts. Hargrove was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee award in 2013.
