Bonnyville Forest Nursery Finds Litter of Kittens in Their Auger

Staff at the Bonnyville Forest Nursery came back to work after Easter to a fluffy surprise.

A stray cat that wanders the area broke into the nursery over the weekend and gave birth to a litter of kittens in the nursery’s auger.

The story very nearly took a much darker turn as one of the staff turned the auger on and saw the mother cat jump out, turning it off just in time to save the whole litter from harm. Staff took care of the litter for a while, feeding them milk from a syringe waiting for the mother to come back. Unfortunately, she never did and the staff raised  a hundred bucks to send the kitties off to the Bonnyville SPCA, where they’re receiving the proper care they need.

This isn’t the first time the cat has had kittens in the nursery’s auger. Unfortunately, the kittens haven’t always been spotted before the machine has been turned on.
