NLSD Seeks Feedback on Proposed Student Conduct Policy

Northern Lights is looking for the public’s input on a few proposed changes to its student conduct policy.

The new policy makes reference to the Alberta Human Rights act and clarifies that the policy applies to sporting events, competitions, field trips and other school sanctioned events wherever they occur. Notably, the revision gives the school principal the authority to deal with situations that happen outside of the school, such as online bullying.

The division will be collecting feedback until the 29th. Direct any comments to Superintendent Rick Cusson at [email protected].
