Fishing Lake Man Charged With Sexual Assault

David Laboucane of Fishing Lake is facing multiple charges, including sexual assault after a disturbing incident in Elk Point.

A woman was walking  along the road on her way home when a car pulled over to pick her up. After she got in, the car drove in the opposite direction of her home towards the driver’s house. The man threatened violence to prevent her from leaving.  The woman called 911 at 1:45 AM but wasn’t able to say anything with the man next to her. An officer texted the number and the woman was able to explain from there. RCMP tracked the phone and entered the man’s home at 4:30 AM. There, he was arrested and the woman was found.

RCMP report that the man both physically and sexually assaulted the woman while she was there. 37-year-old Laboucane  is charged with one count of Sexual Assault, one count of Forcible Confinement, one count of Administering a Stupefying Drug, one count of Uttering Threats and one count of Careless Storage of Firearms. His first court appearance is April 13th in St. Paul.
