Dialysis Unit Coming to Lac La Biche

the William J. Cadzow – Lac La Biche Healthcare Centre is getting a permanent, six station dialysis unit.

The announcement was made by Provincial Health Minister Sarah Hoffman at a press conference earlier today. The province has budgeted 3 million dollars for the project. Design will begin this spring and the unit is expected to be up and running by early 2018.

With six stations in the permanent dialysis unit, patient capacity in the dialysis bus will be increased to 12; up from 10. It will serve Albertans from Smoky Lake and Vilna to Wandering River and Athabasca.
