Drug Trafficking Charges For Two Lakelanders

Two residents hailing from Bonnyville and Kehewin respectively are facing drug trafficking charges after being pulled over.

The officer pulled the two over after recognizing that the passenger was wanted for driving without insurance. While the passenger was being arrested, the officer noticed a meth pipe in the truck. A further search revealed the following:

 

  • numerous baggies containing methamphetamine found inside a purse
  • a methamphetamine pipe
  • 2 cell phones
  • a large amount of Canadian currency
  • a baggie of marihuana
  • a drug kit
All evidence was seized and the two were transported to the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment where they were placed in front of Justices of the Peace.  The woman was granted $750 cash bail facing charges of Possession for the Purpose of Traffiking, Possession of Proceeds of Crime, Possession of Marihuana and Failing to Comply with Conditions.   The man was granted $750 cash bail facing charges of Possession for the Purpose of Traffiking, Possession of Proceeds of Crime and Possession of Marihuana.  Both paid bail and were released on court compelling documents to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on April 5th.
Methamphetamine seized totaled approximately 26 grams with an approximate street value of $2000.00
