Gordon Rogers Named Suspect in Two Murders

Gordon Alfred Rogers of Red Deer has been identified as the suspect in the murders of two Onion Lake women named Jeanette Chief and Violet Heathen in 2007 and 2009 respectively.

RCMP made the announcement at a press conference in Edmonton today. They add that Mr. Rogers had known Violet Heathen for a few years but that Jeanette Chief had not known him. Both women were last seen alive in the Lloydminster area. Jeanette Cheif’s body was discovered just outside of town while Violet Heathen’s  were discovered near Kistcoty by a hunter.

Rogers will appear in court on April 5th in Lloydminster at 10 AM.
