Man Arrested in Cases of 2007 and 2009 Murders in Lloydminster

A 59-year old man has been arrested and charged for the first degree murders of two Lloydminster women that occurred in 2007 and 2009.

48-year-old Jeanette Chief’s body was discovered on June 6th, 2007 in a rural area just outside of town on the Saskatchewan side, while 49-year-old Violet Heathen’s was discovered near Kistcoty on May 15th, 2009. The investigation would last for more than 6 years.

Specialized units from both Alberta and Saskatchewan were put on the investigations. The case is still active.
