Congratulations to Laura Akana of J.A. Williams High School, who has been nominated by Northern Lights School Division for the Edwin Parr award this year.
The provincial award is awarded to the most outstanding teacher in their first year in each of Alberta’s six educational zones, with each local division picking one nominee. Akana teaches grade 9 math and science as well as Art 10, 20 and 30.

From lunchtime math and science tutorials to helping students discover their artistic side, she has proven that she promotes student success in all its forms.
