Small Crowd For Town Hall Open House

The town of Bonnyville’s open house for their new town hall yesterday saw a rather… modest crowd.

While about 40 contractors showed up for the first session earlier in the day, only about 8 or 9 members of the public attended the more general second session. Nevertheless the presentation went underway with a virtual 3D tour of the new hall and a Q&A session afterwards. Vivian Mannasc is the architect behind the project and says a bit of the old town hall will still be around. A section of the current building’s foundation will have a wood plank put over it and be made into a bench. She adds even just having a town hall up to modern building codes, such as wheelchair accessibility and proper sprinklers, will be a huge improvement, but the new council chamber will be a massive upgrade as well, being much larger and able to hold a much larger crowd.
