No charges are expected to be laid after a five-hour standoff at a Cold Lake South Residence on Sunday.
Police were called in around 5:20 in the afternoon on a report of a possibly armed man who had barricaded himself into the house. Nearby residents were advised to stay indoors as police waited outside for five hours before the man fled the building on foot. RCMP chased him across highway 28 and were able to arrest him in the open field behind the Lakeland Inn.
The man was transported to Cold Lake hospital for assessment and is unlikely to be face any criminal charges. Nobody was hurt in the incident.
