Bronze Plaque Stolen from St. Paul Memorial Cenotaph

A large bronze plaque has been stolen from a monument honouring fallen soldiers in St. Paul.

The plaque contains the names of local service personnel who lost their lives in both world wars and the Korean war and is about a meter and a half wide. Despite yesterday’s snowfall, no footprints were seen leading towards the plaque, meaning it could have been missing for some time before someone noticed.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time the legion has had to deal with petty crime. About a year ago they added some rocks with artwork on them to a new addition on their building. It wasn’t long before they were burned in an act of vandalism.

Anyone with any possible leads is strongly urged to contact the St. Paul RCMP.
