Bonnyville Man Arrested For Driving on Synthetic Weed

A 29 year old Bonnyville man is facing multiple charges after driving while high on synthetic marijuana.

RCMP received a complaint on the 28th of a driver swerving all over the road on Highway 28. Police located the vehicle and pulled it over. The man’s first court appearance is March 22nd.

Synthetic marijuana is created by spraying chemicals on otherwise normal herbs to recreate the effects of natural cannabis. However, while research on the drug is limited, several cases point towards it having much more dangerous side effects than regular marijuana.
