The Bonnyville RCMP Detachment has laid multiple charges after a confrontation at a Kehewin home. On Saturday (Oct. 4), the Detachment received a call for service at a Kehewin residence after a large fight had broken out. RCMP Members learned an extremely intoxicated 20-year-old male suspect (the occupant), resident of Kehewin, assaulted one of the female residents. The suspect, who is known to police and has a lengthy criminal record, became violent towards police and attempted to flee the scene. Bonnyville RCMP Member’s were able to apprehend the suspect after a short foot chase into the nearby treed area. The 20-year old male faces multiple charges including resisting arrest, assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, assault, and failing to comply with probation.
