Shortage of Goods at Bonnyville Food Bank

The Bonnyville Friendship Centre is asking for Lakelanders help. The Centre is currently experiencing it’s highest usage rates in history with July reaching 78 people and now September a mind-blowing 101 people, which in turn, has nearly emptied the Centre’s shelves. Lakerlanders are being asked to bring in any unused or unexpired canned goods, produce and cold meats. Assistant Executive Director for the Bonnyville Frienship Centre, Pauline Mawer, says there are a number of factors contributing to the high usage rates.

Mawer adds the Centre is not just for aboriginal peoples, but for all Lakelanders that need to use the services the Centre provides. Without the help of local residents, the Centre could run out of supplies by months end.
