NLSD Considering Adopting New Logo, Slight Change to Name

Northern Lights School Division is looking into permanently adopting its 20th anniversary logo with some modifications as well as making a minor alteration to its name on the logo.

The proposal came up at yesterday’s board meeting, with the discussion originally limited to the logo. From there, discussion evolved into perhaps adding “public” somewhere into the division’s name as well. This would be to make it more clear that the division is responsible for public schools instead of private or catholic schools. While the division can’t change its official name in any way from what the province assigned to it, the board will look into seeing if they can put the slightly different name on logos and newsletters.

Communications Officer with the Division Nicole Garner says the board decided to defer any decisions on the matter until a later date so that administration can get more information on what the costs of changing the logo might be and if the  board has the authority for the name change.
