Cold Lake RCMP executed a search warrant at a rural property in the Beaverdam area seizing multiple stolen items.
On October 21, Cold Lake RCMP Crime Reduction and General Investigation Units executed a search warrant at a rural address in the Beaverdam area of M.D. of Bonnyville.
“During the execution of this search warrant the Alberta RCMP recovered and seized numerous stolen vehicles, firearms, ammunition, and contraband cigarettes,” reads the RCMP release.
RCMP recovered and seized three vehicles, one flat deck trailer, two off highway vehicles, seven firearms, one prohibited firearm magazine, around 5,000 rounds of ammunition, and approximately 4,200 contraband cigarettes.
As a result a 38-year-old with no fixed address has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, operation of motor vehicle while prohibited and possession weapon contrary to court order.
The suspect was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody, with a court appearance set for October 23 in St. Paul.
“This investigation led to a significant seizure of stolen property and firearms by one of Alberta RCMP’s Crime Reduction Units,” said Staff Sgt. James Morton, acting Operations Officer for Alberta RCMP’s Eastern Alberta District. “Crime Reduction Units target priority offenders that cause the most harm in our communities and play a crucial role in enhancing public safety by targeting these repeat offenders.”
