Alberta RCMP have charged a former director of the Lac La Biche Law Enforcement Training Centre following an investigation into allegations of sexual assault involving a trainee.
Police say the investigation began in June 2025, “Lac La Biche RCMP were informed of allegations of sexual assault by a person in the Law Enforcement Training Program in Lac La Biche,” reads the RCMP release. “The subsequent investigation revealed the offences took place in 2024 during a training program when the victim was a candidate in training.”

As a result, a 42-year-old Lac La Biche resident has been charged with sexual assault. The suspect was released on conditions on October 7, and is scheduled to appear in court on November 17 in Lac La Biche.
