Premier Jim Prentice Singles out Highway 28

Premier Jim Prentice has labeled highway 28 as the “worst highway in Alberta”. Prentice singled out the problematic highway at the 2014 AUMA Convention in Edmonton. The Convention, which started Wednesday, wraps up today after more than a thousand dignitaries and municipal leaders brought a number of issues to the floor. The oil-rich Lakeland area is drawing people from all over the world, along with thousands of oil haulers and oversized loads, causing the highway to deteriorate more and more each day. City of Cold Lake Mayor Craig Copeland, says the highway absolutely needs to be twinned in particular areas.

Mayor Copeland adds the City of Cold Lake met with Alberta Transportation at the convention and Lakelanders should see change in the near future.
