Northern Lights Public Schools is inviting students to “Meet the Bus” on August 28.
Transportation staff will visit schools to introduce first-time bus riders to school bus routines. Students will meet their bus drivers, tour the bus, learn the rules, and take a short ride.
“The goal of the program is to increase students’ confidence and reduce anxiety about taking the bus to and from school,” reads information from NLPS. “It is primarily for Kindergarten students, but any students who have not taken the bus before are welcome to attend.”
No registration is requires, families can just drop by their local school at the set times and Meet the Bus.
Sessions will be held at Art Smith Aviation Academy, Cold Lake at 9 a.m., Vera M. Welsh Elementary School, Lac La Biche at 9 a.m. Duclos School, Bonnyville at 10 a.m., North Star Elementary School, Cold Lake at 10:30 a.m. Ardmore School at 1 p.m., and Cold Lake Elementary School at 1 p.m.
